“Will Read for Food,” the 21st annual program of readings by local authors to benefit local charities, will be held from 7:00-9:00 pm on Thursday, November 19th, at Scuppernong Books, 304 S. Elm Street, Greensboro.
The suggested donation is $5. The fundraiser will also involve a raffle of autographed books and gift cards to local eateries. The suggested donation gets you one raffle ticket, and additional tickets can be purchased for $1 each. All proceeds will go to Greensboro’s Interactive Resource Center.
“Will Read for Food” was first organized as “Writer’s Harvest” in 1994 by UNCG English Department faculty member Hope Hodgkins. Since 1995, the annual benefit has been run by the faculty of the the MFA Writing Program at Greensboro and has featured those writers as well as other regional authors.
