A Reading by Maria Hummel

The MFA Writing Program at Greensboro, The Greensboro Review, Friends of the UNCG Libraries, and the UNCG Alumni Association will host a reading by Maria Hummel on Thursday, April 17th at 8:00 p.m. in the UNCG Faculty Center on College Avenue. The reading will celebrate the release of Hummel's latest collection, "House and Fire" (The American Poetry Review, 2013). It is free and open to the public and will be followed by a book signing.
A graduate of the MFA Program at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro - UNCG, Maria Hummel is the author of the poetry collection "House and Fire," winner of the 2013 APR/Honickman First Book Prize, and two novels: "Motherland"(Counterpoint Press, 2014) and "Wilderness Run" (St. Martins, 2003). Her poetry, fiction, and nonfiction have appeared in Poetry, New England Review, Narrative Magazine, The Sun Magazine, The New York Times, and the centenary anthology The Open Door: 100 Poems, 100 Years of Poetry Magazine.
She lives in San Francisco with her husband and two sons.
